Dance Fusion 2010

Mechanics and Guidelines:

• The contest is open to all dance enthusiasts / dance group within the Barangay.
• A minimum of three (3) minutes and a maximum of five (5) minutes dance piece is the primary requirement of the competition.
• The dance piece should be hip-hop and must have the combination of any of the following: ballet, contemporary, jazz, highland and lowland dance (folk dance). Music can be mixed up (no novelty songs allowed) and it must be in compact disc format.
• The use of the National Anthem music or a part of it is strictly prohibited.
• Each group is limited to a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 members compose either all male, all female or mix dancers. No group is allowed to perform if less than 8 or in excess of 12 members.
• A deduction of five (5) points per minute in excess of 5 minutes is recommended as a violation of the contest time limit.
• Competing groups must be present during the briefing and orientation, drawing of lots and production rehearsals scheduled by the organizer
• A deduction of 3 points every late during the scheduled rehearsals (2 offense is only allowed) and disqualification for the group who is absent during the rehearsals.
• A registration fee of P200.00 per competing group
• Ranking method will be applied in the computation of the result. In case of a tie, point system shall be used. Should there still a tie; the appointed chairman of the judges will have to break the tie. In no instance shall a contest shall be final and unappeallable.

Criteria:

Composition – (50%)
- consistent and relevant application of the elements of dance and elements of choreography (Elements of dance – flow, movement dynamics, structure, levels of patent; Element of Choreography – theme/intention, time, space, energy, form, performance and style)
- Production Elements – costume, make-up, props and music.

Interpretation – (30-%)
- Grace and skills, technique, musicality, characterization and discipline of the dance

Artistic Treatment – (20%)
- Consistent and effective costuming, use of props and technical effects.

1st Place : P 3, 000.00 + thophy
2nd Place : P 2, 000.00 + trophy
3rd Place : P 1, 000.00 + trophy
2 Consolation Prizes : P 500.00 each

Schedule of Activities:

Deadline of Submission of Entries : June 55, 2010 (5PM)
Briefing/Orientation, Drawing of Lots,
Production Rehearsal : June 26, 2010 (5PM)
Screening/Elimination Show : July 9, 2010 (2PM)
Production Rehearsals : July 4 & 11, 10(2PM)
Final Competition : July 17, 2010 (4PM)
